Maniac did indeed have father, we can reveal

The father of shoe bomb fanatic Richard Reid told a stunned world yesterday: "I am the father of the shoe bomb fanatic Richard Reid."
The shock revelation confirms our exclusive report last week that Richard Reid was indeed the result of sexual intercourse between two people.

Reid, 51, confirmed that he had been the man present at the maniac's
conception in 1971. Minutes later he was imprisoned for a string of offences
and had no further contact with either the boy or his mother. And Mr Reid
believes that it was this event which set his son on the road to
international terrorism: "As they were taking me away I remember thinking
'It's entirely likely, what with his father being banged up and everything,
that my son will one day convert to Islam and attempt to bring down an
airliner with an explosive-packed shoe.' I just wish I'd acted sooner."
The discovery of Richard Reid's father presents the chilling prospect that he may be directly related to other people, and that those people may be willing to talk frankly to the tabloid press for a small fee.
