Readers' Wives taps into redundancy market

Consignia ex-employees targeted

Specialist publication Readers' Wives is hoping to cash in on the recent redundancy boom by encouraging recently fired workers to bare all for its magazine.

Women that have lost their shirts in the recent the raft of redundancies announced by Consignia in particular as being asked to lose their bras and trousers too.

Next month, the magazine will feature a "Postwoman Pat" photo spread and is inviting Post Office employees past and present to send in saucy snapshots of themselves. Spokeswoman Amy Lawson said: "We're looking at this as something fun for them to do while they're looking for another job. These women are out of work and we're sympathetic to their needs.

"Our readers are always looking for a good opportunity to empty their sacks and that's something a postwoman should know a lot about. This is an exciting career opportunity that may lead them up the garden path instead of up a garden path."
