The Wonderful World of Bono — Australia
Outback misery for thousands
by Bono
It seems incredible that the Australians, themselves sons of immigrants and turnip-thieving Poms, think that it is justifiable to stick thousands of starving women and children in a camp in the outback.
This must stop, and it must stop now. Is it not a fact that their economic plight is caused by the very global capitalism which feeds the barbecues of Australia? Can these people not expect their own little piece of the Lucky Country?
Apparently not, but if this situation is not rectified immediately, I will fly to Sydney and give the authorities there a right good talking-to.
Incidentally, if you are ever in Sydney, I can thoughroughly recommend the five-star Hotel Intercontinental. The views from the restaurant are stunning, and the chef does a mean feral grill at only A$120 per head.
