The Wonderful World of Bono — India

It seems scandalous that in the 21st century the only escape from the cess-pit of human despair they call Mumbai is the penthouse suite of the five-star Hotel Inter Continental.

Of course, we in the West can consider ourselves lucky that, courtesy of the forces of global capitalism, we have the means by which rise above this metropolis of misery.

I mean, why can't the Indian government just give every street urchin and leper a guitar? Then everyone in the world can have a successful and lucrative recording career, complete with stretch limo and private jet. It's as simple as that. I myself am prepared to donate a guitar, just to get the ball rolling. I'll even throw in a plectrum. So, what are you going to do for the Third World today, eh?
