The Wonderful World of Bono — Russia

Well, if you want a good example of where rampant Western-style capitalism gets you, look no further than Russia.

They may not have had much freedom under the Communists, but at least they had a crust of bread and a job for life. Incredibly, many Russians who are lucky enough to still have some employment have not been paid for up to three years. Indeed, I recently got a letter from U2's Russian agent noting that neither he nor his staff had received a single rouble for nine months, despite record sales there.

This is a sickening example of the human cost of globalisation. These people have hungry mouths to feed. Is there no-one who will listen to their cries?
