The Wonderful World of Bono — USA

The spirtual home of globalisation

by Bono

Bono: International roving rock punditWere it not for the fact that the US comprises 73 per cent of all U2 record sales, I would be tempted to launch into a lengthy string of invective regarding the spiritual home of globalisation.

But, given that 87 per cent of all U2 merchandising is sold on US soil, I will restrict myself to noting that Coca-Cola is really bad for your teeth and that President Bush really should lay off interfering in other peoples' business. I mean, how would he like it if I were to go over there and tell him how to run his economy, eh? That's right, he'd say: "Who is this warbling buffoon who thinks that just because he's knocked out a couple of good tunes he can come over here and tell me my business?" And he'd be right. So, George, keep your opinions to yourself. OK?
