Woman tells of deputy prime minister Internet grooming hell
Real-life meeting causes commotion

A housewife from Northampton has revealed how she was the victim of an internet trickster pretending to be Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.
Susan Rhodes, 38, met the impostor in a political chat room hosted by the Labour Party. "Looking back now, I can't believe I fell for it," said a still-distressed Mrs Rhodes. "But he was very plausible and seemed to have in-depth knowledge of the workings of Government."
After spending a few weeks chatting and gaining Mrs Rhodes confidence, "Mr Prescott" proposed a real life meeting. "He wanted to meet me at the local Art Gallery and then take me for fish and chips. This immediately had me little worried as I though it unusual for a Minster to want to go for a fish supper," she told The Rockall Times.
Despite her misgivings Mrs Rhodes kept her rendezvous and that was when the true horror emerged. Whilst waiting for Mr Prescott she was approached by an overweight northerner with a face she later described as "like a bulldog licking a nettle". Initially, she thought that this was a representative from the deputy prime minister but when she eventually was able to understand his accent it was apparent that he was claiming to be Mr Prescott.
"I knew then that I had been conned," said Mrs Rhodes. "Fortunately I had the presence of mind to fake a heart attack and by the time the ambulance arrived he had disappeared."
No comment was available from Mr Prescott's office but The Rockall Times can exclusively reveal that this impostor has been causing embarrassment for the government for a number for months. He has been involved in a number of incidents including punching a passing farmer and most recently scuppered the Fire Brigade pay deal by offering union leaders "outside" for some "straight talking".
