Cilla Black with a lorra, lorra questions to answer

by De Management

Last week we asked our readers — considered among the most intelligent and best-informed social pundits in the UK — to vote for who or what they considered to be the principal cause of Britain's current terrifying gun culture.

Surprisingly, neither guns themselves, gangsta rap, Yardies or crack proved popular choices. Odd, since every Daily Mail reader knows that it is a lethal combination of these ingredients which have turned the streets of our inner cities into thoroughfares of fear.

Or not. Many of you chose to place the blame firmly on the doorstep of the Americans. This seems a bit harsh, given that they have the strictest gun control laws in the world, and an inbred cultural revulsion to guns. You only have to look at the reaction to the Washington sniper incident to realise how true that is.

David Blunkett? Quite possibly, although it would hardly be realistic to claim that old Blindgit has done much shooting himself. As for Bono, a healthy 382 votes show that the roving Irish rock pundit continues to touch every aspect of our lives. Expect a declaration on the subject from the great man himself at his earliest opportunity.

Cilla Black: A lorra, lorra questions to answerNo, the winner as voted for by you our panel of readers is chirpy Scouse songstress and highly talented presenter of quality TV entertainment Cilla Black.

That Cilla is predominantly responsible for the wave of black-on-black gun violence sweeping the streets of Britain like one of those cleaning vehicles with the rotating brushes on the side — although without the warning bleeping noise and flashing lights, obviously — may shock many wide-eyed innocents in Middle England.

Unbelievable? Well, if you think our Cilla couldn't possibly pop a cap in someone's muthafuc*kin' nigger ass, then you've got to consider how highly regarded John Leslie and Matthew Kelly were until recently. See a pattern emerging? That's right.

For the record, here are those results in full:
