Lesbians give Bush a good licking

Angry lady-lovers remove their support and all hell breaks loose

by Flash Gorman

President George Bush Dubya is tonight licking his wounds after a series of political attacks from the Association of American Lesbians.

Protest marches calling for his resignation have taken place across America, with more planned for the weekend.

The action represents something of an about face for the AAL who were prominent in their support for Bush during the last election due to his pledge to "welcome lesbians into government".

Running scared from lesbiansUnfortunately for the AAL, there was something of a misunderstanding in the Bush camp with George later revealing that he "thought we were talking about people from Lesbia".

The remark has caused fury amongst the ranks of the AAL, including more attractive members. Chairwoman Angela Crewcut demanded the government "opens up for gays" — a statement that caused sub-editors the world over to reach for their Innuendo Crayons.

While of scant consolation to the AAL, they are not the only gay rights group to suffer from a misunderstanding made in a campaign pledge. During the 90s, Dutch prime minster Wim Kok swept to power on a promise to "double the number of dykes" in the country, sparking the infamous "Lesbians say No to Kok" campaign that led to his eventual resignation in 1999.
