Rockall: 50 years of British rule

Don't miss our cut-out-and-keep souvenir issue!

by de Management

On 18 September, 1955, plucky Jack Tars from HMS Vidal set foot on the sacred islet of Rockall and hoisted aloft the Union Jack — thereby beginnning 50 glorious years of British rule which ended only on 16 June 2005 with the declaration of the Peoples' Republic of Rockall.

To celebrate this half century of North Atlantic Pax Britannica, next week's Rockall Times will publish a cut-out-and-keep souvenir issue highlighting the highs, and lows, of the world's remotest islet, complete with pictures, personal reminiscence and not a few tears at the passing of this last great outpost of Empire.

Order you copy now, available at all good newsagents and sandwiched between the New Statesman and Thai Ladyboy Executive Relief.
