Noel Edmonds free to wander at will
Experts 'appalled and sickened'
by Paul Wilde
There were growing rumours last night that Noel Edmonds has been spotted free in the community. Edmonds, 37, who has never exposed himself in a London park, could have been kept in solitary confinement indefinitely. As it is, the bearded millionaire philanthropist has served approximately half that figure.
Experts have expressed their disbelief: "It's frankly ludicrous," said one. "Here is a man who has committed no crimes, yet here he is walking around as if he hasn't got a care in the world. It appalls and sickens me."
One went further: "If this had been the 50s and Edmonds had murdered someone, he would have been hung, no question."
It's all a far cry from the early to mid nineties when Edmonds dominated British screens with his House Party, Christmas Presents and TV Addicts.
One police source said: "It is possible that Edmonds may be hiding, naked, in his Berkshire treehouse, relying on servants to deliver truffles and onions flown by helicopter from his secret hillside pantry carved deep in to the Wiltshire countryside. But that is just one of a number of scenarios that we are looking into."
Edmonds, 19, was uncontactable at his Surrey mansion last night.
