Defiant Souey: I'm going nowhereToon boss refuses to jump ship by Juan Sebastian Gaucho Embattled Newcastle United manager Graeme "No Tash" Souness has delighted millions of football fans up and down the country away from Geordie-land with a defiant refusal to leave the "salary I love".
"It's been a hard task getting things how I wanted them to be," admitted Souness. "When I came there were an awful lot of dodgy players messing up the team. Well, I got rid of all of them but there seem to be another lot here now just as dodgy. God only knows how they got here." And Souness has pointed out that the "crippling" injury list he faces has made matters even more difficult. "If you took six players out of any similar team to us — Sunderland say, or Hull, or Darlington — they'd struggle in the Premiership as well. But I'll not walk out — I'll stay and fight like I did at Blackburn." Some Toon supporters intend to continue backing the tenacious manager who has spoken of his "passion" for the money he gets while others have stopped doing so. But whatever their views, there is general agreement that the fiery Scot's rallying call "I'm going nowhere" is entirely apposite. Previously
