The Rockall Times RSS feed

Cutting-edge satire for news aggregators

by De Management

We are delighted to announce the creation of a spiffy new The Rockall Times RSS feed. Here:

What the bloody hell is that? you ask. Good question, and one which we pass on to resident propellorhead Aaron Crane to answer:

"Lots of regularly-updated websites (news sites, blogs, etc) have these RSS feeds. Each feed is essentially just a list of headlines in a computer-friendly format. An 'RSS aggregator' website (or a desktop program that does the same thing) can run out and gather lots of feeds. Then it combines them to present the user with a list of the latest stories on all of those sites. Each headline is a link to the original website."

So that's crystal clear then? No?

Oh well, if you don't understand that bit, if probably won't matter to you in the slightest. If you have clicked on the link above, you will have seen mountains of computer code smothering links to this week's headlines. That's the RSS feed. It's basically a bit of code that lets other computers know what new stuff has appeared on your site and stick it on their site simply, easily, and automatically. Saves lots of tedious checking and cutting-and-pasting.

So, it you want to point your headline reader at our RSS feed and find out exactly what cutting-edge satire is currently available on The Rockall Times, this is the best place to start.

If you want some more information on this whole RSS thing, try these:

Enjoy.
